    12th May 2017

    Conference Day and Evening bookings

We are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible for our Conference Day and Evening.

This will be a time where you meet your child’s mentor and discuss your child’s academic progress and set goals for the remainder of the year. As this is based around a student led discussion and will be more in depth than before, the bookings are now one 20 minutes session with the mentor. You will receive a formal written report in the week commencing 22nd of May and we would ask that you bring this to the conference.

The times for the Conference Day and Evening will be:

    • Thursday 25th May 9:00am – 4:00pm or
    • Wednesday 31th May 4:00pm – 8:00pm

Please book your appointment via www.schoolinterviews.co.nz and use the code nke3m in the white box on the homepage where it says “enter code”. If you are having an issue with this or would prefer to book by phone call the school office on 03 418 0517 to do so.

There will be no classes on Thursday as teachers will be fully occupied with their conferencing meetings. Students are not required to attend school for the day apart from when they have their conferencing meeting and will need to have alternative arrangements made for the remainder of the day.

If parents are not available and would like to meet with the mentor there will be an opportunity to book an appointment outside of the conference times. Similarly, the student is expected to meet with the mentor during the conference time regardless of whether the parent is available or not.

We are excited about the mentoring program as an ongoing part of your child’s achievement at South Otago High School and we welcome your feedback on the process.

    Mr Scarth

    Deputy Principal.
