Accounting

Accounting

Rationale
Accounting is taught from Year 11 to Year 13. In this subject students learn how to record, report on, and give advice about the financial affairs of New Zealand based businesses. By the end of Year 13 students can produce and analysis the finances for a manufacturing company listed on the New Zealand stock exchange.
All students will, at some stage of their lives, have contact with the financial world. This may be in the form of personal finances in their working life, considering areas of financial requirements for a business or as a future investor. In all cases a knowledge of accounting is an asset.
