    13th Mar 2015

    Gore and Taieri Interchange

Next Tuesday, 17th March, we will host Gore High School in our annual Summer Sports interchange.

Teams have been announced, so the students are aware if they are participating.

The sports to be contested are:

    • Mixed Senior Touch – 10.30am
    • Seniors Boys Touch – 11.15am
    • Junior Boys Touch – 12.15pm
    • Junior Girls Basketball – 10.30am
    • Senior Boys Basketball – 11.45am
    • Tennis Mixed Senior – all games starting at 10.15am
    • Boys Cricket – 10.15am – 20/20 format
    • Theatre Sports – 10.15am

All games are at SOHS apart from the Cricket which will be at the Showgrounds Glasgow Street, spectators are most welcome (and encouraged)! Unfortunately we are limited to teams that our opposition can field.

The cost for participants is $4, which covers the cost of afternoon tea. Unfortunately your child will not be able to attend afternoon tea if this hasn’t been paid.  It covers both your child, and a visitor from Gore High.  It must be paid into the office before interval on the Tuesday.

A week after that, Tuesday 24th March, Taieri College will host us for a summer sports interchange. Sports to be contested are as per the Gore High Interchange  but they are taking out Basketball, and adding in an Aquathon (a 200m swim and 4 km run). They also have a Junior Girls’ touch team, and our team for this will be announced on Monday. The Aquathon is a great option for any keen swimmers and runners, and it can be done individually or as a team. Mr Palmer has some skills in this too, so is happy to help out with the coaching! Costs for transportation will be between $10 and $15 per person. Again your child will not be able to attend this day if the bus fee has not been paid. Early next week I will get out the permission slips that, along with the money, will need to be back in immediately.
