The U14 and U15 squads both have a pre-season match against St Peter’s College in Clinton on Saturday. The U14s will kick-off at 11.30am and the U15s at 1pm. Jerseys will be provided for both teams. We have acquired another U14 coach and we are hoping to split the boys into two even teams next week.
The 1st XV trial was held in excellent conditions on Monday night. A good turnout of players ensured a competitive trial. There is likely to be another trial next week before the squad is finalised. We are in urgent need of a 2nd XV coach. Anybody interested can contact me at school or home.
NZRFU registration will be completed in the first week of Term 2, prior to the first game. All players are required to complete a registration form for tracking and insurance purposes. The first competition game for all teams will be on Saturday, April 24.
With the season nearly upon us, it is a good chance to remind players of correct uniform. U14s require their own jersey – the other teams will have one provided. All players must wear red shorts and red and blue sox. Gear is available locally at Stirling Sports. All players are also required to wear a mouthguard.
A reminder to all parents and supporters that the SOHS Rugby Club meeting will be held in the SOHS Library at 7.30pm on Tuesday night.
