      Final Newsletter

We are rapidly approaching the end of the school year for pupils at South Otago High School and what a great year it has been. Personal highlights for me have been working with the Kapa Haka group and having the opportunity to be acting Principal in Term 3. From a wider school point the amazingly positive ERO report was affirmation we are on the right track to make this a special place to be.

      Busy time of year

There is always a lot that goes on at this time of year. This week we have had Junior Production followed by activity days. What a great opportunity for students to get out and about – from Xmas cooking at school to surfing to a Stewart Island tramp – a huge thanks to all of the staff who have given up their time to take the students away. Next week we have our Ki O Rahi tournament on Monday.

      Last Day

Our last official day is Tuesday next week. Our Junior Prize giving is at 12.00pm and runs for approximately 1 hour. Students will then be released for their summer holidays – good luck to everyone. Buses are running at normal times.

      Final Note

As we enter this time of year  we say see you next year and in some cases fond farewells to those moving on, I would like to extend a personal thanks to all of the teachers, students and whanau who I have had the privilege to work with this year. Have a great holiday, be safe and look out for each other.
