Principal’s Report 17th November 201717th Nov 2017
Kia Ora Tatou
As the end of term gets closer the school appears as busy as ever! Senior students are in the midst of external assessments and a small number are in school completing internal assessments to be sure of the last few credits. Junior students have their end of year assessments starting next week and I would expect that students are now familiar with what they are studying for.
With just a few weeks to go we still have high expectations with regard to school uniform. We realise that some items may be wearing out and a reluctance to buy at this time of the year when there is a potential ‘growth spurt’ over the summer. It would be helpful to the school if parents could encourage student to look after their uniform to get through the final few weeks. Where items are beyond repair please do consider the second hand items that may be available. Please do keep the school informed and we will do what we can to help families.
Mandarin available at Y10 in 2018
This year we have had some Y9 students studying Mandarin. This will be an option available for students to study in 2018 as a Year 10 option. For any student who is keen to follow this option and has not yet made this selection or would like to change their option please do speak to the Dean, Mr Thomas or Mr McDowall to ensure that we provide the best opportunities for students next year.
With end of year activities being selected we would ask that parents please ensure that fees for these trips are paid in good time so that students are able to participate. This is an extra curricular activity and we cannot allow students who have not paid to participate. If there are any issues with regard to payment please contact the teacher in charge of the activity as soon as you are able to discuss options.
