The School Curriculum
We are a community school aiming to offer courses and activities suitable for all students.
South Otago High School offers Year 9 and 10 students a full programme covering all the essential learning areas. Literacy skills are fundamental to all programmes.
The school offers a wide range of subjects at NCEA Level 1, including alternative programmes in English, Mathematics and Science.
A full range of pre-tertiary subjects are available for students who wish to continue study at Polytechnic or University. At NCEA Level 2 and 3 there is an expanded range of subjects including Outdoor Education and transition programmes.
NCEA Level 3 and Scholarship are offered in many subjects with extra tutoring available for some. Further subjects may be available on the Otago Net video conference system or through STAR funded courses.
