I’ve always wanted to study overseas and today my dream comes true. I was at South Otago High school last year as an interchange student for 3 weeks. I was very sad when I knew that I have to leave here because I miss my friends and my host family.

Not only, the people that are so nice but also, the surroundings are absolutely gorgeous. When I was here I really liked how the learning systems work such as not too many periods in a day and the students here are very good at technology and very talented. So I went back to Thailand but I moved to a boarding school which is far away from my hometown, I got really homesick and I couldn’t put up with it.

I wanted to move to New Zealand and attend SOHS and will be staying with a host family. My family decided to let me move here and I think I made the right decision. On my first day, my friends that we’ve met last year or even new friends, they are so friendly and kind to me. On the other hand, my homestay is also very kind and nice to me. They always find something fun for me to do such as bakings, playing board games, watching movies, etc. Students here are also very supportive and encouraging. For example, if in P.E. class and I were playing something, they will be like ‘Go Pinky’ ‘Yes Pinky!!’ and it makes me feel inspired and encouraged. When I struggle with assessments, the teachers here are always here for me and explain to me very clearly. This school gives me a chance to do something that I love as I’ve never been in an acting or drama club so I joined in and feel so happy that I’m a part of something that I’ve always wanted to do.  Everyone here is my family, I’ve learned so much here and I’m thankful for that. Thank you for having me.
