Yesterday, a "trial" was held to select the 1st XI team that will contest the McCullum Cup T20 tournament over the Saturday and Sunday of Labour Weekend (22-23 October). Unfortunately, only 9/16 interested players turned up, meaning that all of those players have been selected, but we are still two players short. I will come back to this early next term to sort out our final two players and permission slips will go out.

Saturday cricket will begin on 29 October and will be played over 6-7 consecutive Saturdays. This season, we will be stepping up into the Open Schools grade, which means games will start at 1:00 and will be 40 overs. It is possible that we will have to rotate players. If your son is going to be unavailable on any Saturday between 29 October and 10 December, it would be helpful if he could let me know as soon as possible so I know not to include him on that particular day. 

Practices will happen here at school every Thursday between 3:30 and 5:00 - rain or shine. I also urge players to keep up with the school notices, which are read out in Mentoring time and available on the school portal - this will be my main method of communication, in addition to the school newsletter.
