South Otago High School
The Inaugural SOREC Academy Student of the Year Award has been announced.
Schools were given the chance to nominate students who had really grown and excelled in their time in the Academy. It was fantastic to see the calibre of students who were nominated. They had not only developed their skills in the workshop, but also their confidence outside of the workshop as well. The level of skill they have all shown has been great. Thank you very much to both the Schools and Companies for giving them this opportunity.
We are very pleased to announce that Liam Anderson from South Otago High School is the winner for this year. Through the academy, Liam both designed and built his own trailer. Liam has also become a leader in the metalwork classroom and developed his skills to the point of being offered an apprenticeship for next year.
