House Group Leaders
In assembly on Tuesday our house group leaders were presented with their badges. Each mentor group has one house group leader. Each of the four houses; McDonald (Red), Blaikie (Yellow), Sutherland (Green)and Somerville (Blue) have one overall house captain from the Year 13 student council. Sutherland: Ashton Navarosa Somerville: Aimee Johnson McDonald: Anna Lloyd and Blaikie: T Jae Valli. Congratulations to all the students who have taken on these leadership roles. We look forward to working alongside these students throughout the year. At the end of the year one house is awarded the house trophy from points accumulated throughout many events during the school calendar.
House Group Leaders' role:
-Help to promote school and house spirit.
-Assist Mentor teachers with responsibilities within Mentor time e.g. reading the daily notices.
-Take a leading role in supporting events such as Athletics day e.g. house chants.
-Are a positive role model for other students eg encouraging involvement in activities
-Communicate information that has been shared back to Mentor groups eg wellbeing
-Support the work of staff organising house group events e.g. inter house sports.
-Take a leadership role offering their ideas and student voice to develop our school culture.
