There is an opportunity to hear Michael Hempseed (psychologist) speak (supporting mental health- anxiety, depression, suicide prevention) in Mosgiel or possibly Balclutha if we have enough numbers interested to bring him down.
There is a free event that the Taieri community network is hosting on Thurs 18th May 9am - 12pm at the Taieri Rugby Club, 35 Reid Ave, Mosgiel, this is open to anyone. I am happy to organise transport to the Mosgiel event. If any parents/caregivers would like to attend in Mosgiel please let me know and I will try and help. The following is some information about Michael Hempseed from Frontiers of Hope - based in Christchurch. He has TedX talks and caters to all ages about: Suicide Prevention, Overcoming Failure, Healing PTSD, Understanding Anxiety and depression, Mental illness in Children, The importance of good sleep, Sensory issues, Innovation in mental health treatments, Grief and Loss.He ran the NZ Trauma Conference in Feb 2023 (27 Feb - 1 Mar). Michael has experience with teaching staff and teenage students, preschoolers, sports people etc and comes highly recommended.
