Manu Korero Winner Jorja Andrews

On Thursday, Jorja Andrews and some of our Kapa Haka group went up to Dunedin to represent SOHS at Manu Kōreo.

Manu Kōrero is a speech competition which is open to all Māori students. There are 4 categories: Junior English, Junior Te Reo, Senior English and Senior Te Reo.

Jorja did her speech on being “unapologetically Māori” and was supported by members of our Kapa Haka group. She did extremely well and won the Junior English section, securing a spot at Manu Kōrero Nationals in Dunedin on 19-21 September. The Kapa Haka group performed an awesome Haka after her speech to show their support.

Congratulations🎉 Jorja we are very proud of you.
