Ocean Acidification Experiment

10O are doing differentiated learning in science.

This experiment shows initiative of a student who decided to find and conduct an experiment on how to measure the CO2 levels in ocean water. We used soda water (carbonated water) and made various dilutions. Since the water pH is acidic to begin with, when phenolphthalein is added it is colourless. The colour changes to pink on the addition of sodium hydroxide. Number of drops of NaOH can used to back calculate the amount of CO2 present. Well done 10O.
