Parents/caregivers must ring the office first thing in the morning and follow the prompts to record and explain an absence.

The school contacts all parents/caregivers if a student is absent without an explanation. An automated TXT will go to parents/caregivers for unexplained absences around 10.00am.

For health and safety, and emergencies the school is required to know where students are at all times. Students must not leave school for any reason without coming to the school office. Parents/whanau can monitor their student’s overall attendance statistics by checking the school portal.

Queries about your student’s attendance and how it is recorded should be directed to your student’s mentor teacher in the first instance. Detentions are given for unexplained absences and continual absences may affect their ability to participate in extra curricular activities.
