John Kirwan was in Balclutha on Thursday morning speaking at a community event, sponsored by Westpac in collaboration with Business South and held at Te Pou Ō Mata-Au.
He shared some really good tips, looking after our mental health and supporting others is important.
- He mentioned six pillars that support his wellbeing.
- Chill- We all have different things that we can do to help us relax, like reading, playing an instrument, hobbies, cooking.
- Enjoy- Take time to do the little things that bring us joy
- Celebrate- You are awesome, we are awesome and have lots to celebrate about ourselves and others
- Move- Walk the dog, gardening, sports and exercise.
- Do- Things for the brain, learn and develop.
- Connect- Get together with others, technology connections that we have control over.
- He encourages us to do one thing at a time.
