Year 9 spent their Social Studies lesson yesterday experimenting and analysing the layers of a volcano.

Using plasticine, the students mapped the direction and flow of eruptions, took core samples and geological cross sections. This represented how changing lava flow direction and rock type is important in prediction and planning to protect people and places surrounding volcanoes.
