Senior Achievement

In mentoring this week senior students have been discussing their credits with mentors. All seniors need to have a goal and a plan.

I am delighted to see some students already have overall Merit and Excellence endorsements and many more are on their way. Others may have this as a goal. Or it maybe that the goal is a subject endorsement or achieving overall. Whatever your goal is, make a plan and work towards it.

In term 4 students that we believe will gain their respective NCEA qualification will go on study leave while the examinations are taking place. For those students that need a helping hand to get over the line we will be having “call backs” in the library. This is where we will tailor a program for students that are close to gaining NCEA overall and they will continue to work in school.

The number of credits a student needs to have to gain study leave is considered on a case by case basis. Some students will have Art or Graphics portfolios with grades due in January. We know many students will be confident in passing external examinations while others won't. This will be communicated to students and parents in week 3 of term 4.

Well done to everyone that has work hard this year. I look forward to seeing your results and you getting the prizes you have earnt at Prize Giving.
