This term we will be trailing with Year 9 and Year 10 'My Fortnightly Attendance and 'My REP' Fortnightly Reporting'.
YEAR 9 & YEAR 10 My Fortnightly Attendance and 'My REP' Fortnightly Reporting
This will mean that at the end of every fortnight this term (Week 2, Week 4, Week 6 and Week 8) all Year 9's and Year 10's along with their parents, caregivers and whānau will be receiving an email about their attendance for the fortnight and their 'My REP' report.
The 'My REP' report is based on our school values of Respect - Whakaute, Excellence - Hiranga and Perseverance - Te Manawanui. They will receive a grade from 1-5 for each of their classes each fortnight.
5 – Outstanding
This is a student who is consistently going above and beyond while always showing Respect (Whakaute), Excellence (Hirianga) and Perseverance (Te Manawanui).
Ways this is shown include:
· They produce an exceptional piece of work
· They are a leader in the classroom by teaching other students or through helping the teacher without prompting
· They are fully engaged in the teacher and learning process and constantly asking relevant and meaningful questions that enhance the learning environment.
· They always take pride and responsibility for their work they produce
· They always complete homework to a high standard and always on time
4 – Personal Excellence
This is a student who is actively engaged in the classroom while showing Respect (Whakaute), Excellence (Hirianga) and Perseverance (Te Manawanui).
Ways this is shown include:
· They are consistently supportive of others
· They are polite and well-mannered when asking or answering questions
· They ask for help when needed
· They take pride in their work that they produce
· They complete homework well and on time
3 – Good
This is a student who is usually engaged in the classroom while sometimes showing Respect (Whakaute), Excellence (Hirianga) and Perseverance (Te Manawanui).
Ways this is shown include:
· They ‘fly under the radar”, completing their work without pushing themselves
· They are polite and well-mannered but is a passive member of the class who does not get involved much in class activities unless prompted
· They occasionally ask for help when it is needed
· They do what they need to do to get by
· They complete homework to the minimum standard required
2 – Needs Work
This is a student who is not engaged in the classroom and is not even trying to work and rarely shows Respect (Whakaute), Excellence (Hirianga) and Perseverance (Te Manawanui).
Ways this is shown include:
· They are disruptive, pushing boundaries and are defiant during a lesson
· They need constant reminders of what the task is, and to get and stay on task
· They are not prepared for and does not complete the work for the lesson
· They prevent other students from learning
· They do not complete homework
1 – Concern
This is a student who is removed from the classroom and does not show Respect (Whakaute), Excellence (Hirianga) and Perseverance (Te Manawanui).
Ways this is shown include:
· They are constantly refusing to work during the lesson
· They are not listening or following instructions
· They are being rude and disrespectful
· They have been sent out of class
· No effort in class or homework
