Year 11 Mount Cook Geography Trip

Over the next two weeks we are taking our Year 11 Geographers to Twizel and Aoraki Mt Cook.

On Sundays they collect data relating to how the Twizel River changes as you move downstream. Mondays is spent learning about the formation of the Southern Alps and its shaping by glaciers. This includes and informative and entertaining boat trip on the Tasman Glacier. The focus on Tuesdays is the Waitaki canal and hydro power scheme. The reason we run the trip over two weeks is the numbers now doing Geography. 30 at a time is easier to manage than 60. A big thank you to Mr Leather and Ms Sheppard for their work this trip and Mrs Bensley, Mr Henry and Mr Pelzer for the next trip. I’m sure we’ll see some great photos next week as well.
