Ōtākou/Murihiku (Otago/Southland) Ngā Manu Kōrero (Secondary School’s Māori Speech Competitions).
Jorja Andrews (Year 12) and Kaya Leevey (Year 10) competed in Ngā Manu Kōrero on Wednesday 28th May & Thursday 29th May. Jorja competed in the Korimako Section (Senior English) and presented her prepared speech with her topic ‘Help me find my place’. She then had to do an impromptu speech with her topic ‘The greatest challenge….’ 🤍
Kaya Leevey competed in the Te Rāwhiti Ihaka Section (Junior Māori) and resented her prepared speech with her topic ‘Te whakakotahitanga o ngā iwi Māori me ngā iwi Pākehā i roto i ngā tau (The integration of Māori and European people over the years). 🤍
Both of them spoke so well and represented our kura (school) and their whānau with pride. Ngā mihi nui kōrua. Well done to you two. 🤍
