On Tuesday in mentor time all students had the opportunity to complete our voluntary student wellbeing survey.
The survey has been developed to help us gain some idea of what is going well for our students and areas where they may need some extra support. The feedback is anonymous and no emails are recorded. We ask students about their thoughts towards the following;
- General school climate
- General wellbeing
- Whether they have someone they can talk to if they need support
- What is going well recently
- What may be causing them to worry/stress
- Whether the cell phone away for the day policy is helping them to concentrate on their learning
- Mentoring support
- Whether they see or hear any bullying and if they see others supporting people
- Whether they know some strategies if they have a problem with another student
- Any places they may feel unsafe
- If they have any ideas to help support their wellbeing
- There is an opportunity to leave their name if they would like a staff member to make contact with them.
When we have asked students to complete these surveys in the past they do help us to gain insight into what students think and we put together an action plan to help in some areas that students identify.
