Kia ora parents and whānau, This email is a reminder about the expectations and plan for Year 11 students next week as they begin study leave.
This year, we face a new challenge: there are no exams scheduled in the first week of exam leave (3–7 November). This creates a long gap between students’ last lessons and their first exams, which may affect engagement. To support students and help maintain momentum, all SOHS staff will be available to Year 11 students during their regular timetabled classes. For example, your child’s maths teacher will be available in their usual classroom during their normal maths period. Teachers will also be available to provide support via email. Please note that if your child comes to school during this week, they are expected to be either: - in their normal class, - studying in the library, or off-site. This approach is intended to minimise distractions for junior students who are still in school. During this period, Year 11 students are not required to wear school uniform. Students who have been offered call-backs are expected to be at school on Monday at 8:40 a.m. to make a plan. Every student on callbacks has received an email outlining the plan for the week.
