On Tuesday all of year 9 went to Toko Mouth to get some hands-on experience with science out in the real world, this gives students the opportunity to see that science is most often not in a lab and see some of the potential pathways in science.
Students got to try their hand at: Marine biology, freshwater ecology, beach-combing and riparian planting. They also got an opportunity to learn more about water density and see our local fault line (the Akatore Fault).
It was a fantastic day, students got stuck in and involved with all of the stations and enjoyed the beautiful day.
