Kia Ora South Otago High School! This is Liv Butler from the South Otago Theatrical Society, I am part of the production team for the upcoming South Otago Theatrical Society production, Disney's Moana JR.

Disney's Moana JR. is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the 2016 Disney animated film, bringing the adventures of Moana and her village of Motunui to life onstage. Moana JR. features all the beloved songs from the film, written by Tony, GRAMMY, Emmy and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foaʻi, and Mark Mancina, including "How Far I'll Go", "Shiny" and "You're Welcome". 

This thrilling and heartwarming coming-of-age story follows the strong-willed Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. Moana and the legendary demigod Maui embark on an epic journey of self discovery and camaraderie as both learn to harness the power that lies within. With empowering messages of bravery and selflessness, Moana JR. is sure to bring out the hero within each of us.  

We are looking for a range of passionate young people from the ages of 8 - 18 to join our cast, and a dedicated crew behind the scenes (who can be any age). The show is to be directed by Irene Mosley who is very experienced working in Junior productions. There are a wide range of roles so we would love anyone who is keen to step on up and give it a go!  

We would like to invite anyone who is interested in being involved with this fantastic show to attend our upcoming cast & crew information evening.

Auditions will be April 19th & 20th (times TBC), but all this and more will be discussed at our cast & crew info evening.
