Early Tuesday morning at 5:45am our South Otago High School Whare Ako arrived on site at school in front of A Block and behind the Bus Bay

We want to thank Mark Van Asperen and Adam Turnbull and his team at Big River Homes along with our students and workers who were involved in building it and transporting it safely to our school. 

The Whare ako was built by the 'Big River Trades Academy ' which is now 9 years old, it is a joint venture between South Otago High School, Otago Polytechnic & Big River Homes and is a one of its kind in NZ.

Adam works in conjunction with Jamie Todd who is the OP tutor of the Academy. 

We are all very excited for our Whare Ako to finally be here and we are looking forward to the opening sometime in May.  Date TBC!
