On Thursday 25th June Jorja Andrews and Kaya Leevey received the Mana Pounamu Young Achievers’ Awards.
Held in the spirit of Matariki, this event celebrates the achievements of our rangatahi Māori across Otago.
Now in its 26th year, Mana Pounamu continues to recognise excellence, leadership, and potential. We warmly invite nominations for tauira who reflect these values, and acknowledge the vital role of kura and communities in supporting their success.
Since its establishment by the late Alva Kapa in 2001, Mana Pounamu has highlighted the achievements of rakatahi Māori and encouraged pathways into tertiary education and beyond. The kaupapa remains proudly supported by Kāi Tahu partners, Otago Polytechnic, the University of Otago, and the Ministry of Education.
Well done and congratulations!
