Leadership training dates and information

Our Year 13 students play a valuable role in our school supporting our junior students and wider school culture

nformation has been sent out regarding  the morning of Thursday 26th November. We look forward to working with Year 12 as they move into Year 13 and the leadership opportunities available. We strongly encourage Year 13 to participate in peer support. All students who attend the training work in groups with 2-3 leaders, meeting once a week, term one with 10-15 Year 9 students to support them as they transition to high school. The Year 13 students are excellent role models for students and provide a valuable opportunity to support our school values of respect, perseverance and excellence. Students learn not only leadership skills butdevelop their ability to cooperate/collaborate and build their confidence, planning and organisational skills.

On Thursday 26th November 2026

  • Current Year 12 students are expected to return to school (Library) from 10am-12:30 to learn about leadership opportunities in 2026 and an introduction to Peer Support.
  • Students may wear non-uniform for this session.
  • Several staff will be involved with leading activities for the programme.
  • This date has been chosen as many students head away to planned work over the holiday period, so we want as many students as possible to have the opportunity to attend.
  • Attendance at this training is compulsory for several of our leadership opportunities including being on the Student Council.➢ This is a fun morning and feedback from the students each year is that they really enjoy the time spent together and activities.
  • The second training day is scheduled at this stage for Thursday 28th January 2027
  • Year 13 peer support leaders are asked to meet the Year 9 students on their arrival at school and guide them to the main hall.
  • Please mark this date on your calendar.
  • Year 13 students, please bring a ‘plate’ of food (to Library) on the 28th to share with other Year 13 students for morning tea and your own water bottle.
