    4th Aug 2017

    Dear Parents/Caregivers

    Kia Ora Tatou

Last week we held a teacher only day, I would like to thank the parents for their support as this time was extremely valuable. We hosted an outside facilitator and the time and expertise provided by this teacher was really appreciated by the teaching staff.

    Class Act

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the Class Act presentations by the Prime Minister Bill English. The recipients from South Otago High School were Isla Pringle and Dylan Crawford who represented the school with pride. It was fantastic to see our students performing at a comparable standard to some of the larger schools in our region.

    Chinese visitors

This week we have been hosting a group of Chinese students and their teachers from our sister school Zhongxiang No.1 Middle School. They have found significant contrasts to life and school in China to that in New Zealand. Thank you to the host families who have taken such good care of our guests and the students who have made them feel so welcome here at South Otago High School.

Year 9 and Year 12 survey

A reminder that Y9 and Y12 students have been issued with surveys for their family/whanau to complete and return by Thursday 10 August.  The feedback that you provide is helpful as we plan for the future. Please do not forget that there is a Warehouse voucher to be drawn from all the responses received by the due date.

    Lockers

Lockers are available and are a great way to keep valuable secure at school. Most are fitted with a power supply to charge chrome books or cell phones during the day. Students should collect agreement forms from the office to have a locker issued to them.
